I am so excited for this opportunity to cross paths! I look forward to walking next to you on your wellness journey. Here is a little bit about me:
Lindsay is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified ARISE® Interventionist (CAI). She is trained in EMDR and Flash technique, a new trauma protocol that can be utilized in critical incident crisis situations and with complex trauma. She is also trained in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Polyvagal Theory, Creative Expressive Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Somatic Experiencing, Ego States and Parts work. She is Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed. She evaluates and treats trauma through attachment based interventions.
Lindsay takes a special interest in working with trauma, addictions and recovery. She is comfortable having uncomfortable conversations. She specializes in sexual trauma, dissociation, PTSD/C-PTSD, childhood trauma, adoption, divorce, blended and diverse families, attachment styles, inner child work, college and career counseling, sex and intimacy support, executive functioning support for neurodivergent individuals, and offers a variety of assessments. She is well versed in navigating the educational system, as well, and provides coaching for IEP/504 accommodations and College Planning. She also offers parenting support.
Lindsay is passionate about helping families and loved ones suffering from addictions. She has seen, personally, how addictions have affected her family and wants to join you and your family with navigating pathways to recovery. Recovery is possible!
Lindsay is also able to provide Alcohol/Substance Use Evaluations which may be requested by legal or medical personnel.
Lindsay has experience working with Law Enforcement Officials, EMTs, Paramedics, Military, Fire Fighters and other First Responders. She is comfortable having uncomfortable conversations and can hold space for First Responders to explore the intense on-the-job experiences.
Lindsay also provides Trauma Intensives (Extended Sessions) which allow clients to explore their trauma in a less interruptive environment. Thus, clients are able to process trauma in a way that is more adaptive for their nervous system and supports healing more effectively and efficiently. Longer, uninterrupted sessions promote healing in a way which honors the experiences of the nervous system and promotes swifter regulation.
Lindsay graduated with her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. She was the Lead Clinician at the former group practice she worked at and the Lead Intern where she completed her internship for Mercer University. She previously taught in the high school setting for twelve years and received two bachelor’s degrees from Valdosta State University. She also has two certificates from the University of Georgia in Legal and Medical Interpretation/Translation: English and Spanish languages.
Lindsay is passionate about helping families and individuals navigate crises and focuses on a whole family approach to healing. She is compassionate and kindly promotes change in family systems. She has extensive knowledge and experience working with families from diverse backgrounds. Her caring heart helps her lead families on a pathway to wellness and recovery. She specializes in process, behavioral and substance use addictions. Her extensive experience with understanding trauma helps her to identify family and individual needs and aids with proper treatment planning and case management for individuals in the family support network.
She is an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor and Interventionist for mental health, trauma, and addiction needs and is bilingual in English and Spanish languages.
When she is not in sessions, she enjoy gardening, cheering on the UGA Bulldogs, spending time with her family and pets, doing diamond art, traveling to National Parks and rescuing sea turtles. You will most likely catch her outdoors and in nature!
